As good as it gets. Quality. Integrity. Longstanding client relationships. The Honda [Motor] Works experience is something that gets passed down in families. Trust in the service industry - especially with auto services - is rare thing. We trust them completely. My stepmom has been going to the Motor Works fellas for well over 10 years. (She is one of the most savvy consumers I know. ) They took care of my brother and me and my used Accord, I had no question about where to go. When I needed major repairs, I came back from Philly to work with them. Their service and quality is unmatched - it was a simple logical decision. I had over $2,000 worth of work done about a year ago, stuff that was priced out to be well over $3,500++ at other places. Dave and the team gave my car a new lease on life and made me feel like I had the best thing on the road. In the process, they gave me a full report on upcoming repairs, when to expect them to be due and how much I should pay. After moving to Chicago, I got an estimate for some upkeep. I called Dave. He remembered my car immediately and knew exactly what the Chicago guys wanted to fix. The Chicago guys were right - the repair was on the list - but Dave felt that it wasn't necessary for another few months. (He was right.) He also made me feel secure about the pricing bid provided. Sadly, my car was totaled recently. I called Dave with the hope that the recent repairs might increase the amount offered by insurance. He took care of me immediately, providing all the needed information to the insurance. Coordinating drop offs can be a little tricky because of the location - but I wouldn't change that aspect. The location, which is off a main road, separates Motor Works - metaphorically and physically - from the crowd of subpar service joints. And, they will work drop offs for you. You will be thrilled with the results and enjoy working with them. Imagine Car Guys - but toned down. S.R. My laptop was locked to a library table and the lock suddenly wouldn't open, and Dave sent a mechanic over with a bolt cutter to cut the cable. I'd have had to call a locksmith without that, which would have cost both time and money, not to mention aggravation. Kudos to the Motorworks team for coming to my rescue! This is another motor shop that I've had pleasant experiences with. Pro's: Cheaper labor than the dealer. They will drop/pick at the metro stop or nearby. The technicians are friendly and will explain everything they work on. On a couple occasions, they advised not to do certain things based on what the dealer advised. So, in that sense, they're not apt to rip you off too much! They have quick turnaround but call in advance. Con's: Too bad they don't allow you to bring your own parts/fluids for your car. This really isn't a con but thats how they make some extra moula - understandable. They close Friday and Saturday :( Recommendation: If you live around the area, drive a Honda/Acura, not willing to work on cars and against going to dealers, give this place a shot. M.Cutter 1/23/08 Dear Motor Works, Another unbelievable, funny but true car story. You've all heard about deer running into cars right? When my Honda was brand new, the horse belonging to a friend reared up in the cross ties, backed out of the barn, bypassed his owner's car and landed belly up on the trunk of my brand new car. Needless to say I was less than pleased. The horse was unscathed but my trunk was completely caved in right through the center. The insurance company replaced my trunk, but for some reason no one caught the fact that the frame was bent. As a result water and moisture have always leaked into the trunk and exhaust fills the cabin of the car ever since the accident. Prior to coming to Motor Works various shops had replaced the rubber seal, tightened the trunk latch and various other attempts were made at correcting the problem. I've had the car since it was a baby (1989) and this has always been an annoying problem. I basically brought my car in for an oil change last week but asked Keith if he could have a look at the trunk and make one last valiant effort to enable the trunk to close properly. He's my hero....the trunk now closes very tightly and evenly with the rear fender and the added bonus...no more exhaust enters the cabin. Keith...if you're listening...you're my Honda Hero...thanks for fixing the bane of my existence! Now if I could just find a good Veterinarian...do you guys work on dogs too? Thanks Dave and Keith. I'm absolutely
thrilled with my brand new really old Honda!! It finally runs like it
should...I'd love to drive it back to all those mechanics who rolled their
eyes towards the Heavens telling me I didn't know what I was talking about
when I said it was running rough......They simply advised me to junk it
because it was old and beyond repair. Dave and Keith obviously put a lot of
time into the details of the devil. There were so many major repairs which
needed to occur I forgot to tell them about the minor stuff like my blinding
windshield wiper arms which were in desperate need of recoating. But guess
what? They spotted it and recoated the arms for which I will be very grateful
this summer when the sun finally shines. There were so many other seemingly
small malfunctioning parts which either needed replacing or repair that were
attended to (without my enumerating them) and I really appreciated that! They
obviously went over the car with a fine toothed comb like I had requested. I
know my car very well...I've had it since it was a baby...now it's an old
lady but acting like a teenager again. Even though I spent A-L-O-T of
money.... Hondas are worth it when you can find the right technicians to work
on them. I received excellent customer service from Dave who stayed on top of
coordinating all the details. He kept me apprised of the work in progress.
Your shop is neat, organized and computerized which will hopefully make it
easy to keep track of my servicing calendar in the future. So all in all, I
would have to say that in regards to both customer service and the soundness
of the car...I received excellent customer care and my car told is behaving

I first heard about this repair shop from the CarTalk webpage. I thought I'd give them a try. I am so glad I did. They are quick, thorough, honest, and explain what needs to be done (or why it doesn't need to be done) clearly and succinctly. They also provide free loaner cars (when available), free transportation to the subway (and pickup from said station when you return to get your car). They've dropped me off at my house, and picked me up there as well. All in all, the best service I had experienced in my nearly 35 years of having cars repaired.
I went to checkout these guys after being fed up with the dealer's constant overselling of unnecessary servicesafter my wife found the good reviews on cartalk.com. Motor Works guys fixed the problem i had with my A/C, and showed me that the struts my dealer recommended replacing were in "perfect shape". They have free loaners as well as pick up and drop off in the local area - very friendly and professional. They treat you like they truly appreciate your business.
In my opinion, if you own an Acura or a Honda, then it doesn't matter where you live, or how far you have to drive to take your car here, they are the one to see. They specialize in Acura/Honda vehicles, are very knowledgeable, and solve those very difficult, hard to diagnose and repair problems that other shops have screwed up, and have given up on, and referred to them. I am one of them, my brake light kept coming on, and another unmentionable supposedly famous and reputable shop in Seabrook MD was unable to "replicate" my problem. Well, I wasn't going back to them. So, Motor Works found out that I just simply needed new brakes, and now my '01 is feeling and running and braking like it was brand new. I'm just really thrilled and happy with these folks. I can't go anywhere else after my experience with them.

the eleven years of assiduous care they provided for my Civic wagon, Motor
Works' people are one of the chief reasons why I bought another Honda. In
fact, when a co-worker bought the Civic wagon in question, they had wisely
set aside $300 for repairs they thought they would need to pass state
registration requirements. Thanks to the care Motor Works provided, they
incurred $0 in additional costs. On a recent repair, they allowed me to go on
the shop floor and to examine with them the vehicle on the lift. In doing so,
they pointed out several areas of potential concern and permitted me to watch
them make some of the repairs. How many other mechanics would allow that kind
of scrutiny?

too good to be true! Unbelievably, they are unbelievable! Who ever heard of a
carshop that takes care of their employees with a
four day workweek for everyone? Their shop looks like Neiman Marcus. They look
you in the eye, they made my life easier, and they were awesome! AND a loaner

Text of a letter that this client sent to his neighbors Dear Neighbor,
I have been driving
since 1951. I bought my first car, a Chevy Bel Air
in 1954. At my fist service, a few days after purchase, I learned about the
dread of incompetent, careless auto mechanics. Upon leaving the dealer's
premises and after driving 5 miles, the red "idiot" light (oil
pressure) came on. I check out my driver's manual and called the dealer after
checking my oil and finding no oil. The dealer came himself within 5 minutes.
Someone had drained the "break-in-oil" and not refilled the pan!
I have been going to
Motor Works ever since. I have had only driving pleasure and dependable,
superlative, friendly service with truly free loaners (with timely
notice before my appointment), senior citizen discount, timely service
reminder notice of service due and a man who has been using a computer since
1980 or so when I bought my first Honda Accord, which lasted until 1992. My
present Honda Accord Wagon is now 9 years old, with 118,000+ miles and ready
to give me another 200,000 or so miles of carefree driving. Between me and my
3 sons, we have collectively owned 7 Hondas since 1980, all running
flawlessly until replaced, none for mechanical reasons. I get the pleasure of
recommending Motor Works and its irreproachable, unmatched, ASE-trained,
tested and certified mechanics.

Dear Greg and All, I've never struggled
more when answering a questionnaire! How can you improve on something that
already exceeds expectations in so many ways!! The ideas and
suggestions you've presented here all have merit. But I also feel you all
deserve a life away from work, so I'm hesitant to suggest Saturday hours,
educational seminars, etc. Would I like you to service other makes of cars?
Perhaps, but I know I can only buy a Honda if I want to keep you. So, for me,
the choice is made. (Plus it sure helps limit my car shopping trips!) You've always
gone a step beyond "normal" customer service. Anything you add
would only be icing on the cake. Where items are extremely important to me
you're already doing those things. Simple as that! Anyway, I've tried to
answer this questionnaire pretending you're not already wonderful. That's
hard! As for the free oil and filter changing for responding to the survey,
how about keeping that $$$ for yourself. It is truly my pleasure to respond.
Realizing the level of customer service you already provide and how, even

Always honest, always explain things so I can understand, and never push for repairs that aren't necessary. I've never felt that they've taken advantage of me because I'm female. They have been very honest and thorough. Do it right the first time. It's a rare shop that will do proper diagnostic procedures and tell you if it ain't broke don't fix it. Highly recommended. that We love it here. Today its in the high 70's, there is no noise, the view of the
